As it’s known that “we are sunk in information – we lack inspiration”. In this digital age getting information has become very easy at the click of a button. So for the children too. They are aware of how to get any information shared by teachers in the classroom. However, what is missing is the inspiring element which is very important for them to apply the information gathered into reality. Our unrealistic expectations tamper the respect of child’s feelings leading to anxiety, confusion and inadequacy. We are aware that schooling takes more childhood and if it becomes rigid will cause harm to the child.
Effective teacher is a person who makes a real, visible difference in one’s life. As we all know teaching is the profession that inspire and help us realize our skills and potential and thereby apply the meaningful learning to the society. Teachers must be allowed to use their knowledge and passion based on the understanding of their children.
“The great teacher is that person who fills you up with hope and makes you experience with thousand of reasons to enjoy every aspects of life”
Small changes in the mindset and approach can help the teachers to create curiosity, generate interest and inspire the children.
1. Controlling emotions through self discipline and effective classroom management
2. Take ownership of the learning in the classroom. Involve children in completing the lesson
3. Show children that you are ‘serious and not ‘strict’; you are ‘flexible’ and not ‘firm’.
4. Transform every situation from WE to YOU by establishing readily acceptable rules and procedures
5. Convey confidence, expertise and genuine interest in the learning rather than completing the lesson
6. Give a scope for children to showcase their learning in the classroom everyday
Effective lesson planning must be made :
- based on the readiness, learning profile and interest of the child, by designing the process for the given content to get the desired product (inspired citizen)
I would conclude with an appeal that - Let us train our children in handling failures rather than programming for success. Everyday planning helps us realize this fact
